Gatlinburg woman charged with hitting Ohio pedestrian while driving drunk
GATLINBURG (WATE) – An Ohio woman is in the hospital in critical condition after she was allegedly hit by a car driven by a Gatlinburg woman who lost control while driving drunk on Historic Nature Trail.
The Gatlinburg Police Department says Jessica Haun, 26, lost control of her car after it hit the curb near the entrance to Microtel Inn around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle then went across two lanes of traffic, over a curb, and hit a pedestrian and a light pole.
The pedestrian, from Cincinnati, Ohio, was airlifted to UT Medical Center where she is in critical condition. Her name has not been released.
Haun is facing charges of vehicular assault, DUI and driving on a suspended license.
