For National Wellness Week, September 15–21, 2014, share on social media with SAMHSA and your friends and followers some of your favorite wellness-enhancing activities. What do you do to improve your physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, financial, occupational, and/or environmental wellness dimensions?
We know that wellness—the presence of purpose in life, active involvement in satisfying work and play, a healthy body and living environment, joyful relationships, and happiness—is integral to our behavioral health. However, too many Americans who experience mental and/or substance use disorders are in poor health, mostly due to preventable medical conditions. Practicing wellness has become an essential part of good behavioral health.
Post a message, photo, and/or video on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Vine showing your favorite wellness activities and include the#ShareWellness hashtag in your post. You could take a photo of yourself with a sign featuring your favorite wellness activity or even record yourself enjoying a wellness activity.
